My interactive fiction workshop is a one-day twine class that aims to introduce those who have never worked with interactivity to the form.
The workshop covers:
•An introduction to interactive fiction and twine as an arts scene.
•The basics of branching and use of the program.
•Structure, flow charts and endings.
•Choice design and presentation.
•Writing for player-insert and variable player characters.
•Use of link reveals for pacing and optional content.
This is an eight hour workshop, typically running from 10am - 6pm with a break for lunch. Students are given lectures interspersed with a number of practical exercises, then given two hours to complete a short project at the end of the class.
In past workshops we've had games about floating nuns, bizarre corner shops and repentant dragons. Previous participant's work can be viewed here.
If you would like to book this workshop for yourself or your institution, please get in touch.
